When it comes to motherhood… simply put, there isn’t anything else like it. But now that you’re here and officially a part of the club (welcome), you know the drill.
You know the demands, the ups and downs, and everything good, bad, and ugly that comes along with it – but there are a lot of things that don’t come so naturally.
Let’s start with friendship.
Not all friends are on the same path at the same time or going to the same place. Which can be tough when you’re the friend with a kid. Your childless friends are certainly cool and all, but you know and I know that they don’t quite get it.
Sure, you have a backstory and a history. There are years of love and laughs and messy bar nights under your belt. But as much as these friends love your babies and as much as they want to show up for you – no one gets it like a mama gets it.
So, you’re here. Scaling the internet and trying to find a friend (someone, anyone) who won’t shy away from screaming, crying, or a little something you’ve come to know as the “pee-pee teepee.”
You’re searching for a friend, not to replace your bestie from high school, but a friend who can wave a place into your life as a mother.
There are apps and websites, Facebook groups, and in-person mommy meetups. And you go. You go to Mother Goose and you post in the Facebook groups and you download the apps. You put yourself out there trying to find someone to ride the roller-coaster with.
And we get it. We did that too. We did that because we didn’t have a place like mamaraderie to help us find what we were looking for.
As mothers and the founders of mamaraderie, we’ve tested the waters in search of the perfect mom-friend. We’ve tried the drop-ins, the meetups, and the singalongs, and we compiled everything we learned and everything we had hoped for into this community.
Because that’s what mamaraderie is – it’s a community.
Yes, we’re a place where you can meet like-minded moms (seriously, our website allows you to check off your “likes” to be paired with beer-loving/book-loving/hike-loving/mary-jane lovin’ moms just like you). But we’re also so much more. We’ve compiled a list of brand partners to give you access to discounts and perks that encourage you to take your time back (things like cleaners, meal subscriptions, and more) and we have a 24/7 group chat to allow you access to mamas around the clock. We also plan in-person events (sometimes with freebies like coffee trucks + donuts) as motivation to get out of the house and mingle.
